Bug Fix Retainer

A bug fix retainer reserves a set number of development hours each month for fixes, small changes and improvements. It suits businesses with an ongoing trickle of work that is too small to quote individually but too frequent to keep ignoring.

Prices shown are starting points. The final cost depends on the size and scope of your project, and we confirm it in writing before any work begins.

Quoting every small job separately wastes more time than the jobs take. A 20-minute fix generates an enquiry, a quote, an approval and an invoice, so small problems get postponed until they become big ones.

A retainer removes that friction. You send the request, we work through the queue in priority order, and you see where the hours went at the end of the month. Unused hours roll over one month.

Questions people actually ask

What happens if I do not use all my hours?

They roll over for one month. We do not roll them indefinitely, because that turns into a large unusable balance and an awkward conversation. If you consistently under-use, we will suggest a smaller plan.

What if I need more hours in a given month?

Extra hours are billed at the same rate, agreed before we start. There is no penalty rate for going over: we would rather finish the work than stop mid-way to protect a number.

Can the retainer cover multiple sites?

Yes. The hours are yours to allocate across as many sites as you like.

Is this the same as a care plan?

No. A care plan is preventive: updates, backups, monitoring, running whether or not you ask for anything. A retainer is reactive capacity for work you request. Many clients run both; a few only need one.
