Review Generation

Review generation establishes a repeatable process for requesting reviews from satisfied customers at the point they are most likely to leave one. Review count, recency and rating all feed local search prominence, and responding to reviews contributes as well.

Most businesses ask for reviews inconsistently, if at all, and usually at the wrong moment: days later, by email, when the goodwill has faded.

Timing does most of the work. The request should land right after the good experience, through the channel the customer already uses, with a link that goes straight to the review form rather than to a page where they have to hunt for it.

Questions people actually ask

Can I offer a discount for reviews?

No. Incentivised reviews violate Google's policies and can get reviews removed or the profile penalised. You can ask everyone; you cannot pay for the answer.

How do I handle a bad review?

Respond publicly, calmly and specifically, acknowledge the issue and move the resolution offline. Prospective customers read the response more than the complaint. A defensive or argumentative reply does far more damage than the original review.

Can fake or unfair reviews be removed?

Sometimes. Reviews violating Google's policies (spam, conflicts of interest, off-topic content, or from someone who was never a customer) can be reported. Genuine negative experiences cannot be removed, and should not be.

How many reviews do I need?

Enough to be credible relative to competitors in your local results. If the businesses ranking above you have 80 and you have 6, that gap is part of why. Steady accumulation matters more than any target number.
