Google Merchant Center Setup

Google Merchant Center hosts the product feed that powers Shopping ads and free product listings. Setup covers account verification, website claim, feed configuration, tax and shipping settings, and the returns and contact policies Google requires before products are eligible to show.

Prices shown are starting points. The final cost depends on the size and scope of your project, and we confirm it in writing before any work begins.

Merchant Center rejects more accounts than most merchants expect, and the reasons are rarely about products. Missing returns policy, no visible contact information, unclear shipping costs at checkout, or a homepage that cannot be verified as yours.

Getting this right at setup avoids the far slower process of appealing a suspension later. Misrepresentation suspensions in particular can take weeks to resolve and are largely preventable with correct policy pages and consistent pricing.

We configure the account, connect the feed properly, set tax and shipping to match what the store actually charges, and confirm approval before handing over.

Questions people actually ask

Why is my Merchant Center account suspended?

Most often misrepresentation, which usually traces to missing policy pages, contact details Google cannot find, or prices in the feed not matching the landing page. It is rarely about product quality and almost always about site trust signals.

What is the difference between free listings and Shopping ads?

Free listings show your products in the Shopping tab at no cost; Shopping ads are paid placements in search results. Both draw on the same feed, so fixing feed quality improves both at once. Enable free listings regardless: there is no downside.

How often does the feed update?

Scheduled fetches run daily by default. Enable automatic item updates so price and availability changes propagate faster: otherwise a sold-out product keeps advertising for hours and you pay for clicks that reach an out-of-stock page.

Do I need a separate feed for Shopping and free listings?

No, one primary feed serves both. Supplemental feeds are useful for overriding specific fields (custom labels for campaign segmentation, or corrected titles) without touching the source data.
